![]() However, they make up for this by selling a large volume of items. Right Stuf operates on a very low margin, which means that they make less profit per item sold than other retailers. The answer lies in the company’s business model. They are known for their low prices, but why are they so cheap? Right Stuf Anime is one of the most popular online retailers for anime and manga. Overall, if you’re looking for a reputable place to buy anime DVDs and Blu-rays, then Right Stuf Anime is a great option. ![]() Shipping is reasonable, and they offer free shipping on orders over $49. They also have a rewards program where you can earn points to use toward future purchases. Right Stuf Anime offers competitive prices and often runs sales on popular items. They also have a wide selection of older and less well-known titles. They are an authorized retailer for many popular anime titles, including Attack on Titan, Naruto, and One Piece. Yes, Right Stuf Anime is a legitimate retailer of anime DVDs and Blu-rays. They’re one of the biggest retailers of anime DVDs and Blu-rays in the United States. Their mailing list is a good way to keep up with all of their sales, though they're a bit overzealous with how many promotional emails they send out.If you’re a fan of anime, then you’ve probably heard of Right Stuf Anime. ![]() Combined with shipping, their figure prices aren't the best, but they are a good place to check if you're after anything that's sold out at other shops.įinally, Right Stuf has a couple of major sales every year, one in the summer and one during the winter holidays, with plenty of discounted manga and anime, bundles, and so on. Most promotional discounts, like Got Anime?, don't apply to figures, but they do run dedicated figure sales from time to time. Currently, Got Anime discounts are around 5% off for most newer items (many years ago, it used to be 10%), and there are exclusive sales and some other benefits.Īs for figures, I've bought a few from them, which arrived in excellent condition. Their "Got Anime?" membership is worth signing up for if you buy a lot from them. Only problem is that they don't carry Seven Seas or Square Enix Manga, but there are other decent options for those. InStockTrades doesn't really do manga preorders and they ship slower, but I will get all my books in excellent condition. ETA : I've lost my patience with Right Stuf after a particularly bad packing/shipping job and have cancelled most of my December manga preorders with them. Still, if you're picky about item condition, especially for manga, it's something to be aware of. To be honest, I would shift all my manga buying to InStockTrades, which is infamous for their stellar packing jobs, if not for the fact that Right Stuf's selection is much better and they pack well enough most of the time. Oftentimes, I find that it's simpler just to rebuy a damaged book from them or another shop, like InStockTrades, and hope to get a better copy than to go through customer support and eventually risk being banned for too many returns (plus, they don't cover return shipping). Speaking of which, they've grown a lot more strict when it comes to returns. The free shipping threshold is currently US$75 (US$250 in Canada), and their packaging is good, but not as good as it used to be. Their selection is excellent- they have pretty much every manga and anime in print in North America, along with figures and merch- and their customer service is decent. 23, 2021) If you live in the US, this is a good place to go for anime and manga. Then had to jump through hoops w/ Route (download app, make an account, figure how to use the app) in order to file a claim.Įnd user experience compares to Nin-Nin-Game before/during their warehouse move which was slow, awful and time consuming. Had to try w/ FedEx first but since tracking # didn't work they couldn't do anything. Should you have any problems w/ your order, RightStuf won't deal with it. Overall RightStuf's prices are slightly more expensive compared to other stores (I had no choice as they still had pre-orders open), shipping and taxes made it more expensive than JP stores, their one shipping option (FedEx Chronopost) adds another month you'll have to wait, and add that their customer service at first seems good (fast response, provides detail info) but dig down they didn't solve the problem (still sent me a broken tracking #) and provided bad news (delivery time is a month). Filed a claim w/ Route for them to send a replacement and waiting on that now. Fast forward to today and the packaged hasn't moved since emailing them. Emailed them and they said expected delivery is over a month out. They delayed shipping it for 6 months and when they did the tracking # doesn't even work. I ordered ITEM #777253 back on 10/01/21 with it releasing later that month. ![]() I would never buy from RightStuf ever again.
